Hey People...

Hey guys. So I know I haven't been on here in a long while, but the thing is, I don't have any photo programs right now, so I can't make any walls. *shrugs* But I have been doing vids! If you want to check it out, here's my wall on a vid site: http://bamvidvault.ning.com/profile/PeriodDramaluvr

Since YouTube deletes some of my vids because of WMG and laws and stuff, I uploaded my vids at this new site. :)

Most of the vids are about different things like Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion and such. There's also the film Pay It Forward (which is a SAD movie by the way, and GOOD!) So, yeah, check them out if you want. :) love you all! <3

Yay for College Life! O_o

Hey people!

So... college has started back up again. It's going to be a great year. Wow, and I'm a sophomore.. O_o

but anyways, I've got some really interesting classes this semester. My favorite one is probably going to be the American Lit class I'm taking. I couldn't WAIT to get a Lit class!! :D

(though I would have preferred Brit Lit..)

But anywho! Some very exciting things have been going on! I had a marvelous Labor Day weekend, even if I didn't go anywhere. It was marvelous because I got me some new movies! :D I got the A&E version of Emma, Master and Commander, and just recently I got Girl With a Pearl Earring. !!!!!

My Period Drama collection is getting BIGGER!! *jumps, claps, squeals!*

Well, that's all. I gotta go now. :)

Wuthering Heights -- A Concept

One of my favorite classics (and I have many) is the novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. It's always fun to see how different people adapt this story to the silver screen.

I saw some of the film with Laurence Olivier

And the one with Timothy Dalton

But they were both lacking one very important thing: The Last half of the story!!! (which is my favorite part) Sure, they're both good, but I just hate it when the films leave out parts of the story!

Then there is, of course, the one with Ralph Fiennes

This one, I felt, was better. It included every part of the book (more or less) and Fiennes portrayed Heathcliff as he is supposed to be: brutal, cruel, sadistic, tortured, yet appealing. The actress who played Cathy wasn't as good as it could have been, but that was okay, because it had the last half of the book with Catherine and Hareton! Not to mention the good music this film had.

But then a newer version came out just this past year:

And I did not like it at all. Oh sure, the acting was very good, but it just wasn't Emily Bronte's story! It was like someone took it and made their own story out of the real thing! The whole thing about Heathcliff and Cathy's love is that it's beyond fleshly love, it's deeper. It's in the soul. It's as constant as nature, and they just brought it low. I just was so disappointed. It could have been better. And they rushed my favorite parts: the relationship of Catherine and Hareton. Major disappointment.

My favorite version by far is the Masterpiece Theater version made in 1998.
Such passionate acting! And who could hate Matthew McFayden's Hareton? Granted, I missed the music this film could have had, but everything else was great! The actor who portrayed Heathcliff brought out the sadistic tortured soul the character has after Cathy dies. And to my surprise and delight Crispin Bonham-Carter (BBC's Pride and Prejudice's Mr. Bingley!!!) was Edgar Linton! He was great!
This is by far my favorite one, with the Ralph Fiennes' one not far behind. The others were just not worthy to adapt to the book.
Now watch this vid I put up! I adapted my own ideas for each character in a new film for Wuthering Heights!
My Cast:
Christian Bale: Heathcliff
Natalie Portman: Cathy
Toby Stephens: Hareton
Kate Winslet: Nelly Dean
Ewan McGregor: Edgar Linton
Rosamund Pike: Isabella Linton
Sophia Myles: Catherine Linton
Karl Urban: Hareton Earnshaw

A Ladyhawke story...

I'm sure some of you know about the old 80s film Ladyhawke. It's probably one of my personal favorites (yeah, and I have, like, enough already! XDD). I just think the whole story is so interesting and original! I got around to thinking, "You know, we really should have another adaptation of the story!" I know that that idea might totally be a bad one, and if someone ever did do a new adaptation, they might botch the entire story, but hey! I can have my little fantasies, right? ;p

So, I got about to deciding who would be the new people for the new Ladyhawke. At first, I had Sophia Myles as Isabeau and Orlando Bloom as Navarre

~~~~
As you can see, I was very creative. But then I got to thinking, "Eh, I dunno, Orlando's acting doesn't really impress me...." That's when I watched King Arthur again... And saw Ioan Gruffudd as Lancelot!
Now, here is my final wall for my own interpretation of Navarre and Isabeau.
~~~~

This is the pairing I'm sticking with. :) I quite like it (and personally like Ioan better than Orlando anyways... XDD)
I can only imagine how a new adaptation could really look.. *sigh* Though I have NO idea who Phillipe could be. *shrugs*

Happy 4th of July my friends!!! I hope you guys will have a wonderful time! Me, I'm going to a friend's house with my family for a picnic! Whoo hoo! :D

Right-o! Now, as I am a HUGE fan of Jane Austen and have seen almost all of the film adaptations of her novels, I have made and uploaded my walls dedicated to some of my favorite adaptations. (Okay, so the newest version of Pride and Prejudice is not my favorite, but as I had made one for a friend, well, it's here.) Enjoy!

What a Relief!

As my dear friends from WotR heard, my mom was checked into the hospital last night because she was having dizzy spells and a quick EKG. They said it was nothing serious, but the doctors wanted to run some tests to be on the safe side. We all were a bit worried, but I am relieved to say that she is coming home soon. :) I don't know if anything serious came of what was going on but at least she's coming home! My younger siblings are very happy about that. And I can't wait to see my 2-year-old brother's reaction when he sees her coming in the door. He missed her a lot last night.

Let's just hope nothing is wrong with her and she'll be okay from now on.

Second Post of the Day~ Lyrics Meme

Saw this at Jaime's blog: http://jaimelouise.blogspot.com/2009/06/first-lyrics-meme.html

And just HAD to do it. ^__^

Here goes: Put your music library on shuffle. Post the first lines of the first 25 songs that come up. (Skip over songs where the first line contains the title, songs in languages you can’t order a drink in, and exceptionally mumbley, singer-songwriters {And instrumentals}.) The game: Guess which songs the first lines are from! Google=cheating. (This will be my IMEEM playlist.)

1. I hung up the phone tonight/something happened for the first time/ I looked inside, it was a rush, what a rush...

2. Dear my love, haven't you wanted to be with me/ and dear my love, haven't you longed to be free?

3. I linger in the doorway/ of alarm clocks, screaming monsters calling my name/ let me stay where the wind will whisper to me/ where the raindrops, as they're falling, tell the story...

4. Be careful little eyes what you see/it's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings/ be careful little feet where you go/ for it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow...

5. Shadows fill an empty heart/ as love is fading/ all the things that we are and are not saying/ can we see beyond the scars and make it to the dawn?

6. Beauty queen of only 18/ she had some trouble with herself/ he was always there to help her/ she always belonged to someone else....

7. Emily will find a better place to fall asleep/ she belongs to fairy tales that I can never be/ and the future haunts with memories that I can never have/ but hope is just a stranger, wondering how it got so bad...

8. Look at me, you may think you see who I really am/ but you'll never know me/ everyday it's as if I play a part/ now I see if I wear a mask that will fool her/ but I can never fool my heart...

9. Life's like the road that you travel on/ when there's one day here and the next day gone/ sometimes you bend, sometimes you stand/ sometimes you turn your face back to the wind...

10. I've got a lot to say to you/ yeah I've got a lot to say/ I notice your eyes are always glued to me/ keepin' them here, and it makes no sense at all...

11. When I see your smile, tears run down my face/ I can't replace/ and now that I'm strong I have figured out how this world turns cold, and it breaks through my soul/ and I know I'll find deep inside me, I can be the one...

12. Prison gates won't open up for me/ on these hands an knees I'm crawling/ oh I reach for you...

13. I see you standing there, but you're so far away/ starving for your attention, you don't even know my name....

14. I wake up in the morning, put on my face/ the one that's gonna get me through another day/ doesn't really matter how I feel inside/ this life is like a game sometimes...

15. Mysterious, that's what I call you/ I'm curious about you/ I'm scared, and I'm not sure that you are safe,/ but your eyes seem to say that you are good...

16. Just one more moment, that's all that's needed/ like wounded soldiers in need of healing/ time to be honest, this time I'm pleading/ please don't dwell on it, 'cause I didn't mean it....

17. I didn't hear you leave/ I wonder how am I still here/ and I don't want to move a thing/ for it might change my memories...

18. I feel it everyday, it's all the same/ It brings me down, but I'm the one to blame/ I've tried everything to get away...

19. now that it's all said and done I can't believe you were the one/ to bring me up and tear me down like an old abadoned house/ what you said when you left just left me cold and out of breath/ I felt I was far in too deep, guess I let you get the best of me...

20. Well you done done me, and you bet I felt it/ I tried to be chill, but you're so hot that I melted/ I felt right through the cracks/ and now I'm trying to get back...

21. Boy meets girl/ you were my dream, my world/ but I was blind/ you cheated on me from behind...

22. I need you boo/ I gotta see you boo/ and the heart's all over the world tonight/ say the heart's all over the world tongiht

23. Your baby blues so filled with wonder/ your curly cues, your contagious smile/ and as I watched, you start to grow up/ all I can do is hold you tight...

24. Making my way downtown/ walking fast/ faces passing/ I'm homebound...

25. Give me strength to face the truth/ the doubt within my soul/ no longer I can justify the blood shed in his name...
